Welcome to Story Nook. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Story Nook ("we", "us") governing your use of the Story Nook app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You agree not to use the Service to create, upload, or share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate — in particular any content that exploits or endangers children. You agree not to attempt to bypass safety filters, misuse or overload the Service, reverse-engineer it, or use it to infringe others' rights.
The stories, prompts, and other inputs you provide, and the books you generate, are your content. You retain your rights in your content. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you (for example, to save your books, sync them across your devices, and let you export them).
Story text and illustrations are generated by AI (Google's Gemini models) from your prompts. Because AI is probabilistic, results can be unexpected, imperfect, or occasionally inconsistent — for instance, a character's appearance may vary slightly between pages. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before sharing it with a child or publishing it. We make no warranty that generated content is accurate, original, or fit for any particular purpose, and you should not rely on it as professional advice.
Story Nook lets you export your books (for example as PDF or EPUB). If you choose to publish or print a book through a third-party service such as Kindle Direct Publishing, you are responsible for complying with that service's rules and for ensuring you have the necessary rights to the content you publish.
If Story Nook offers paid features or subscriptions, they are billed through the app store you installed the app from (Apple App Store or Google Play), and that store's payment, renewal, and refund terms apply. Any pricing shown in the app is subject to change.
We work to keep the Service available and reliable but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. AI generation depends on third-party providers and may be temporarily unavailable.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm other users, us, or a child.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or content, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
