Story Nook ("Story Nook", "we", "us") is a creative app that lets families make their own illustrated children's storybooks, colouring books, and puzzle books using AI. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. Story Nook is designed to be used by parents and guardians together with their children, and accounts are intended to be created and managed by an adult.
We do not deliberately ask children for personal information beyond what is needed to create a story, and we encourage parents to keep real names and identifying details out of story text.
We rely on your consent (given when you create an account and use the app) and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the service. We do not use your content to serve advertising.
Story text and illustrations are produced by Google's Gemini models. The prompts you enter (topic, character description, story text, and art style) are sent to Google to generate the result and are subject to Google's applicable terms and safety filtering. We apply strict content-safety settings to text generation. AI can occasionally make mistakes — including small inconsistencies in illustrations — and generated content should always be reviewed by an adult before sharing with a child.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Account data and saved books are stored with Supabase in the European Union. Copies of your books are also cached on your device so the app works quickly and offline. Where data is processed outside your country, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the provider's standard contractual protections.
We keep your account and books for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your account record, your saved books, and your stored illustrations.
Story Nook is a family app meant to be used under the supervision of a parent or guardian, who creates and controls the account. We practise data minimisation, do not use behavioural advertising, and do not knowingly collect more personal information from a child than is needed to create a story. If you believe a child has provided us information without a parent's involvement, or you want that information removed, contact us and we will act promptly.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to your books is restricted to your account by database security rules, and account deletion is available in-app. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide a more prominent notice.
